Blue Bubble Necklace

Kiln-formed glass necklace. This necklace is created using layers of glass combined with fine metal powder. The glass and metal are carefully arranged in a kiln, and heated to around 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. The metal oxidizes when heated, leaving delicate blue bubbles dancing within the layers of clear glass. Slight variations will occur within the patterns of the bubbles in the glass, making each necklace truly unique. The bezel around the glass is patinated brass with a sterling silver backing. A sterling silver, swivel lobster clasp is used for the closure. This sterling necklace measures 18” in length. The glass with bezel measures 1/2" in diameter. All of the hardware is oxidized sterling silver.
