Garlic Vine SEEDS heirloom & untreated – Mansoa AlliaceaGarlic Vine Plant – Mansoa Alliacea is a beautiful and edible flowering evergreen vine and medicinal plant. It produces large clusters of purple to pink flowers. The flowers and leaves smell like garlic when crushed. Growing it next to your house/veranda will deter mozzies. It can be used as a spice and garlic substitute in salads, mashed potatoes and other dishes. The leaves can be dehydrated and ground to powder to use in cooking.Planting and growing tips:Start in a pot or tray to ensure success. Keep moist, not wet, until the seeds sprout.Replant into individual pots or to the garden when the seedlings have 2-3 leaves.It doesn’t like to sit in water so a well-drained position is best. All our edibles grow happily and quickly in slightly raised garden beds.You can expect flowers in the first year after planting, depending on the growing conditions. Trimming after flowering encourages new growth.Garlic vine is an easy-to-grow plant, that loves the sun and moderate watering, however, the better the soil, the quicker and better it will grow. It doesn’t like to sit in water so a well-drained position is best.
